Over New Year, 2018, the Reading Room hosted a village history exhibition. We’ve gathered together here much of the material that was on display. Click on the links below to explore this archive.

The folk band I play in hired the Reading Room recently. We normally rehearse in one of our houses but we needed to have a rehearsal with PA before a gig and the Reading Room was ideal for this - plenty of space to set up our microphones and speakers, great acoustics and we had a very productive afternoon.

We used The Reading Room for our daughter’s 4th birthday …. a wonderful unique buildings with lots of interesting history and design. It served the purpose of our party perfectly, with a very well equipped, spacious and immaculate kitchen. There is lots of space to set up tables for food, with all tables/chairs on sight….we hired the bouncy castle which Peter maintains and sets up for you and there was still lots of room for dancing and games using the music system.”

We used Weston Colville Reading Room for our daughter's 5th birthday party that involved an entertainer amusing nearly 30 children (as well as their parents!). The size of the hall was perfect for the number of guests, the entertainment and tables/chairs laid out to seat the children and parents for lunch. The Reading Room's kitchen is very spacious and well-equipped, enabling us to cater for nearly 60 children and adults comfortably. The car park and roadside parking near the Reading Room enabled everyone to park safely. We were pleased with the size and facilities the Reading Room had to offer. Booking and payment for the hire of the Reading Room were straightforward and in all the hire cost was good value for money. Should our daughter want a party for her next birthday or a family celebration arise that required the hire of a hall, then we would be very happy to hire the Reading Room again.

I hired the Reading Room for the village Cinema Club – the venue is superb with top notch projection equipment; warm and cosy and welcoming. A bar and kitchen and great location: Just what any hirer would want and certainly contributed to the club’s great success
